Cache Settings
See Also
Allows you to configure the cache settings for SourceAnywhere Server. This
window contains cache settings for the following three types of server cache:
- File cache. Requested files are cached on server to speed up the client
access.
- Other cache. Information
of users, groups, security rights and project tree structure may be cached to improve the client responsiveness
- Memory cache. Caching temporary data in memory may
reduce the disk I/O of the server.
Note: Changes in this window call for restarting SourceAnywhere
Service to take effect.

Window Items
File Cache
- Path
Specifies the path of the folder for storing requested
folders and files. You can type the full path in the textbox or click the Browse
button to select one. The default path is the installation
directory of Dynamsoft SourceAnywhere Server.
- Cache Size
Specifies the amount of disk space used for file cache.
0 (zero) indicates unlimited.
Other Cache
- Cache user, group, security and project tree structure info
If this option is checked, information of users, groups, security rights and project tree structure
will be cached on the server cache. If you set up
only one SourceAnywhere server, checking this option will greatly improve the client
responsiveness.
Note: If cluster is
used for SourceAnywhere
server, please uncheck this option for any server, so as to avoid errors caused
by the loss of data synchronization.
Memory
Storing temporary data in memory may
reduce disk I/O and improve server performance. Before setting the memory size for SourceAnywhere server, make sure that there is enough free
memory available.
- Use the default setting for server memory (1/16 of the total physical
memory) - When this option is checked, SourceAnywhere server uses 1/16 of
the total physical memory for caching..
- Use a fixed amount of memory - When this option is checked, SourceAnywhere server uses a fixed amount of
physical memory specified in the
Memory size textbox by default, if the Lock Pages in Memory
privilege is enabled for the Log On user of SourceAnywhere
Standalone
service. Otherwise, the server uses the specified amount of
virtual memory.
