Add User Dialog Box

Adds a new user and assigns rights to this user in SourceAnywhere.

In the Users window, clicking Add button will bring up the following dialog box:

Dialog Box Items

User Name

Specifies the new user name (up to 64 characters without * | " : < > \ / and ?).

Description

Specifies the brief description about the new added user.

Email

Specifies the email of the new added user.

Password

Specifies the password used for this user to log into SourceAnywhere repositories.

Confirm

Confirms the password by forcing you to retype it in this box.

User is active

Activates this user and therefore allows login.

Must change password next login

Forces the user to change password on next login.

User is locked out

Locks the user. This option is available only when the lock out policy is enabled. When a user account is locked, you can use this option to unlock the user.

Use SourceAnywhere Built-in Authentication

Uses SourceAnywhere's own built-in authentication for the user.

Use Windows Integrated Authentication

Uses Windows Integrated Authentication for the user. If you choose Windows Integrated Authentication, you need to specify a Windows user (Domain\LoginID) to map the SourceAnywhere user to. And when you log in using the user,  SourceAnywhere will authentic the login using the corresponding Windows user. 

For example, if you use Windows Integrated Authentication for user "test" with password "1", and map it to "TestMachine\test1" whose password is "2". When you log in SourceAnywhere Client, you need to enter user name "test" and password "2" to log in.

Assign user to groups

Default User Rights

Sets the default rights on the root project of any repository in SourceAnywhere for the user. This does not override any specific right assignments that have already been added for the user or for any assigned groups.

Create

Confirms the inputs and adds the user.

Close

Cancels the Add operation and closes the dialog box.
