Windows GUI Client

Dynamsoft SourceAnywhere Windows GUI Client resembles the SourceSafe Explorer user interface very much. Users can perform most SourceSafe operations in a similar fashion. Furthermore, Dynamsoft SourceAnywhere has many enhancements compared with VSS operations.

After the setup is complete, start Dynamsoft SourceAnywhere Client using the entry created under the Start menu.

When the Client is run for the first time, the Connect to Server dialog box will prompt you for a server name and the port number the Client is connecting to. The server name should be either the host name or IP address of the machine hosting Dynamsoft SourceAnywhere Server or Cache Server. The port number is the port on which the Server or Cache Server was configured to listen for Client messages.

If the Server or Cache Server has been configured to listen on a secure (SSL or Blowfish) port, the Client must be initialized with an SSL root certificate or a Blowfish user key to connect to the secure port.

Importing Blowfish User Key

The Blowfish user key is included in a SEK file which is generated in the User Keys section of the Server Manager or the Blowfish User Keys section of the Cache Server Manager.

To initialize the Client with the Blowfish User Key, start Dynamsoft SourceAnywhere Client. Under the Tools menu, select the Import Blowfish User Key command and enter the location and name of the SEK file obtained from Dynamsoft SourceAnywhere Server or Cache Server to which the Client will connect to. Connections can then be made on the Blowfish secure port.

If Dynamsoft SourceAnywhere Server or Cache Server has been configured to listen on an insecure port, the Client does not need to import anything to access the port.
