Label Promotion allows you to change the content of a label. Label Promotion works on project-level labels only.

You can use Label Promotion to change the following associations of a label:

• Change the label name.
   
• Change the project structure at the label point.
   
  • Add items found in the current version of the project to the label. Only items that did not exist in the project when the label was applied are queried.
     
  • Delete items from the label.
     
• Change the labeled version of a file in the project to any other version of the file.
